Helen Keller was born on 27th June eighteen eighty in Alabama, in the USA. She was famous because she was the first deaf- blind person who earned the title of Bachelor in Arts degree. 

She was an author, a political activist and a lecturer. 

At nineteen months old an illness left her deaf and blind. Beginning with March eighteen eighty-seven Anne Sullivan taught Helen to communicate by spelling words. 

In her life she was an advocate for people with disabilities and founded the Keller International Organization . She also published several books and articles , including her autobiography in nineteen oh three/ one thousand nine hundred and three. 

She died in Connecticut , on June 1st , in nineteen sixty-eight when she was eighty-seven .
